Effective Altruism Global (EAG) 2022
Decided to go at the last minute.
The optimal conference strategy continues to be: go with a friend, meet their friends, recurse. I ended up meeting a lot of great people through the open attendance and meeting system, especially in security.
I talked to some Conjecture folks. They are well meaning and have a good agenda! They are young and likely could use an infusion of folks with a bit more experience to help them implement basic HR-style practices.
I've never been around any group of people with a stronger feeling of hope and agency to make the world a better place. Super inspiring! EA's love criticism, but they can also create real change.
Temporary tattoos
I haven't used these since I was a kid, but they seem to have gotten a lot more interesting. Diana and I put on the first cut-out today. Will report back with how long they last (3-7 days?), where the best placements are, and how we're perceived.
